
Primary amyloid myelopathy presents as a seldom seen neurological disorder characterized by the accumulation of amyloid proteins in the spinal cord. This progressive condition typically manifests with progressive weakness in the limbs, often accompanied by spasticity. In this case report, we present an individual with primary amyloid myelopathy who presented featuring an unusual clinical presentation.
The patient's initial symptoms included severe weakness in the upper extremities, along accompanied by frequency and urgency of urination. A lumbar puncture revealed elevated protein levels consistent with amyloid deposits. Brain imaging demonstrated characteristic lesions in the spinal cord consistent with primary amyloid myelopathy.
The patient was treated supportive care, including physical therapy and medications to manage symptoms. Despite treatment, the patient's condition continued to worsen. This case highlights the importance of considering primary amyloid myelopathy in the differential diagnosis of patients presenting with progressive neurological symptoms, particularly those with unilateral weakness.
An Uncommon Presentation of Crohn's Disease: A Case Report
We present a unique case of Crohn's disease in a 42-year-old male presenting with atypical symptoms. The patient initially described manifestations of fatigue, which were misdiagnosed as a common gastrointestinalillness. Further investigation revealed colitis. The patient was treated with typical treatment for Crohn's disease, including steroids. The prognosis to treatment was positive.
This case illustrates the significance of a comprehensive assessment in patients with suspected Crohn's disease, as its presentation can be diverse.
Clinical Presentation
A male/female patient presented to the clinic with a chief complaint/history of symptoms/presenting concern of progressive shortness of breath, cough/dyspnea/respiratory distress. The patient reported a gradual/sudden/insidious onset of symptoms/complaints/manifestations, worsening over the past few months/year/decade. On physical examination, auscultation/palpation/inspection revealed decreased breath sounds in the lower/upper/bilateral lung fields.
Further/Additional/Supplementary investigations included a chest X-ray which demonstrated diffuse/patchy/interstitial opacities consistent with pulmonary fibrosis. A high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) scan of the chest confirmed the diagnosis, revealing honeycombing/fibrotic bands/reticular opacities.
The patient underwent further tests/evaluation/assessments to rule out other potential causes/contributing factors/underlying conditions of pulmonary fibrosis.

The patient was a seven/7-year-old male/female, who was admitted to the hospital after consuming a significant quantity of acetaminophen. Upon arrival, the child exhibited symptoms of nausea and was demonstrated elevated liver enzymes.
Treatment modalities were rapidly implemented to minimize/reduce liver damage, including involvement of N-acetylcysteine and supportive care. The individual's condition progressed over the following days, requiring intensive/critical care in the pediatric intensive care unit.
This instance highlights the severity of acetaminophen overdose in children and the critical need prompt medical intervention to minimize potentially severe consequences.
